Psychotherapist

I am a licensed psychotherapist with an office in Garden City, NY.

I was trained in clinical psychotherapy at New York University, where I received my MSW degree. I have extensive training in couples and family therapy, in addition to treatments for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, postpartum depression, and substance abuse. I work with a variety of techniques, including CBT, Narrative therapy, Positive psychology, and Motivational Interviewing. With couples, I work on active communication skills, understanding each other’s triggers, and learning your partner’s “love language”.

I created and led the Parenting Skills Workshop and Families in Recovery group for the Community Organization for Parents and Youth. I am a board member of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work.

Author

Prior to this, I received my MA in creative writing and literature from the University of Houston. I worked as a college professor of writing and literature for ten years. I am also a published writer, with my recent collection of short stories, All’s Fair and Other California Stories, to be released in September 2021.

The link between my two paths became clear to me when I recognized we are all living our own stories and our narratives are rich with depth and meaning. My love for human narrative is the drive behind both professions.
